Telstar has started an active cooperation with “Friends being a helping hand”, a non-governmental organization in the southern state of Telangana in India.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set up by the United Nations General Assembly intended to be achieved by the year 2030, this initiative responds to the commitment of the company with a sustainable development of society. A total of 17 SDGs are designed by UN to solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges within next 15 years. They aim to end poverty and hunger, increase access to education, address migration, combat climate change, and reduce inequality.
“Friends being a helping hand” is a registered non-governmental and non-profitable organization. Started in 2015 by group of 3 friends in Warangal (Telangana state), it has now extended up to 4 branches in Hyderabad, Warangal, Pune & Guntur. They work to serve poor and needy, and the primary passion remains to achieve no poverty, zero hunger, quality education and gender equality. The organization also has ongoing campaigns in physical and mental abuse education, self-defence and particular issues affecting young women.
Some of their recent activities included food/grocery distribution, mobile educational support to under privileged children for online classes & sponsoring rural village sport talent for India federation games.
