Dielectric oil is used inside a power transformer due to its suitability as isolating media. Humidity and gas content in the oil needs to be minimized in order to provide the highest dielectric strength and thus optimizing its isolation capacity.
Telstar oil treatment plants circulate heated oil through a vacuum column, removing water and other impurities dissolved in the oil. This treatment is performed on new oil introduced at the final stages of the transformer manufacturing, and it is also a maintenance operation in the field that has to be carried out periodically.
Telstar provides a standard product range including accessories to enable on-the-field maintenance operations. As an option Telstar plants can be easily adapted to specific requirements for a factory production line.
Telstar oil treatment plants allow the oil to heat, pumping it through a particle filter and passing it through a vacuum column, where it is degassed and dehydrated.
The main components of Telstar plants are:
Telstar oil treatment plants are controlled by state of the art PLC. The PLC allows automatic operation including visual and audio signs, alarms, emergency buttons and automatic data storage. It also allows manual control of the system and modification of process parameters through the touch screen user interface.
